TechCrunch reports that the San Mateo, CA-based site reliability platform closed its Series B funding round.

As a software platform for site reliability engineering (SRE)—an extension of DevOps that addresses the needs of more complex environments—Blameless is blossoming.

The platform boosts the efficiency and productivity of engineering teams as they build software systems, providing unified communication, automated workflows, and quick problem resolution. Along with the funding announcement, it was disclosed that Third Point Ventures Dan Moskowitz will be joining Blameless’ board of directors.

“The Blameless market opportunity is big, as we see teams struggle and resort to creating homegrown playbooks and point solutions.” - Dan Moskowitz, Third Point

Though its original focus was with tech-forward teams at large companies, including Home Depot, Blameless is now also serving more mainstream companies. Though these companies in the areas of enterprise, logistics, and healthcare may not be tech-forward, they see the need for SRE.

This approach helped Blameless double its revenue in the last year. The company will further explore this path by adding small and emerging businesses to its client list, in addition to the large and mid-market companies it serves.

The new round of funding will help bring new leadership to key roles. It will also support product development, allowing Blameless to go after larger enterprises as well.
